Biography
Nick and his co-writer Richard Hood work together as the Two Thirsty Gardeners. They share their enthusiasm for growing and foraging ingredients to turn into drinks with readers of their award winning website www.twothirstygardeners.co.uk. Born in rural Gloucestershire, Nick’s interest in home-grown drinks began at an early age, turning carrots and elderflowers into wine and interfering with his dad’s home-brews. He now lives in Somerset and regularly plunders his garden and the local countryside to experiment with all manner of beers, wines, ciders, cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
Nick has appeared on TV and regularly writes about drinks for newspapers and magazines including the Independent, The Scotsman, Esquire, Reader’s Digest and more. He has conducted drinks-making demonstrations at shows for the RHS and BBC Gardeners World and is a judge for the World Beer Awards. When he’s not busying brewing, Nick runs his own graphic design business.
