Biography
Azmina Govindji is an award-winning dietitian, consultant nutritionist, international speaker and best-selling author. She is a media spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association and has appeared on BBC Inside the Factory, Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped and ITV This Morning, as well as various news shows.
She was a nutrition expert for Simply Vegan magazine from 2018 to 2019. As well as vegan diets, she is also a specialist in diabetes and weight management - Azmina was Chief Dietitian to Diabetes UK for eight years.
She has a knack for communicating scientific concepts in an accessible way to help people make healthier lifestyle choices that are practical and achievable.
Her bestselling book The Gi Plan sold over 65,000 copies, The Diabetes Weight Loss Diet has sold 50,000 copies and the Millennium Cookbook was a bestseller for Weight Watchers. Her books have been translated into French, German, Arabic, Spanish and Swedish.
When her 23-year old daughter decided to go vegan, she became concerned about potential nutritional imbalances and this propelled her into researching plant-based eating with a vengeance. Her most recent book, VEGAN SAVVY, was the culmination of many years of study and peer review.
