Submission guidelines

We are looking to support marginalised and underrepresented voices across the areas of publishing that we work in.

Non-fiction

Send your NON-FICTION proposal to nonfiction@grahammawchristie.com

Please include:

  • A one-page summary of the topic

  • A detailed chapter-by-chapter outline

  • Your credentials for writing this book

  • Any online profile and social media

  • An overview of the market and competing titles

  • How you could help promote and sell the book

  • 1-2 sample chapters (or more, depending on the complexity of your project)

  • Your contact details

Kindly note we cannot respond to poetry, YA or children's fiction submissions.

Fiction

Send your FICTION submission to fiction@grahammawchristie.com. Please only send us material when you have a completed manuscript and include the genre in the subject header. See the select fiction we’re looking for here.

Please include:

  • A one to two line elevator pitch

  • A 500-800 word synopsis. This is not a teaser section; include spoilers.

  • Genre

  • Up to five comparative titles (books yours would be shelved next to, particularly those that have been published in the last three years)

  • Your bio (any relevant writing experience, publications or credentials)

  • How you could help promote and sell the book

  • The first three chapters or approximately 10,000 words, from the beginning of the book

  • Your contact details

We prefer to receive proposals, pitch documents and sample text as attachments — and preferably in Word, Pages or PDF format. In your covering email please include your ‘elevator pitch’ and short synopsis and let us know if your project is on multiple submission.

We read all submissions and aim to respond to all non-fiction submission emails within 6 weeks and fiction submission emails in 12 weeks. If we advise you that we are unable to represent your work, please do not infer from this that your work is not publishable. It may be that we are just not the right agency for you. One source you might consult is the Writers’ and Artists’ Yearbook.

Please note that we are unable to accept and review postal submissions and anything sent as a hard copy will be recycled.

Thank you for your interest in Graham Maw Christie. We look forward to hearing from you.
